AMERICA’S CREDIT UNION (ACU)

ACU is a not-for-profit credit union. Unlike traditional banks, all profits go back to membership allowing them to offer lower rates, higher interest returns on deposits, fewer fees, and other benefits to their members.

ACU was originally founded in 1954 as the Fort Lewis Federal Credit Union to serve military families working at Fort Lewis. Their original purpose, that still holds true today, was to provide a valuable alternative to commercial banks by operating as a cooperative to the benefit of their members (youracu.org).

IS ACU FOR YOU?

ACU is not just for military families in WA, they aspire to help anyone looking to begin their financial journey. ACU has a total of 13 branches in the PNW and are always seeking expansion opportunities. If you are wanting to improve your financial state, ACU might be a good place to start.

ACU also gives back to their community and members. Every year they host the Turkey Shoot Golf Tournament held at Eagle’s Pride Golf course, and all proceeds support charities on Fort Lewis.

They also partner with Titus-Will Automotive to put on an annual summer car sale. They bring in 200+ cars, mark them down and provide great discounts!

GET TO KNOW JACOB

Jacob is part of the Steilacoom Kiwanis and on the school committee for Chloe Clark Elementary. Outside of work he enjoys snowboarding, paddle boarding, and kayaking. He is also an Eagle Scout and has a Lab/Poodle/Golden mix named Brewski.

His most embarrassing moment happened at a Suit and Tie Gala at Indian Summer. He tried using his fork to get a cherry tomato and it ended up flying off his plate and hit a random lady sitting at the table across from him.  At least it was a good ice breaker.
