Dr. Mary Frances Berry to Speak at SPSCC’s MLK Lecture This January

South Puget Sound Community College welcomes to Olympia Dr. Mary Frances Berry as the featured speaker for the 2023 Martin Luther King, Jr. Lecture.

 

One of the most visible and respected activists in the cause of civil rights, gender equality, and social justice for more than four decades, Dr. Berry will share her lecture, Making Diversity & Inclusion Effective, on Jan. 13, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts.

 

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Lecture serves as an extension of the longtime work of the Thurston Group of Washington State, which is dedicated to providing educational and leadership opportunities for underrepresented youth with a focus on historically black colleges and universities.

 

Admission is free for SPSCC students, staff, and faculty. General admission is $15. Tickets are available on our Martin Luther King, Jr. Lecture webpage or by calling the Washington Center for the Performing Arts box office at 360-753-8586.
