Washington Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) will participate in National PTAC Day on September 16, 2020, to celebrate their small business clients’ success. Washington PTAC will participate in a national webinar, an interactive Quiz Show featuring government contracting trivia to be held at 11:00 am PST Time.
Washington PTAC has more than 1,500 active clients and conducts more than 100 trainings and events annually. Those business clients won more than 3,000 government contracts totaling over $300 million last year.
PTAC offers free support to businesses to find, bid, and win government contracts with the federal, state, and local governments. Counselors in 8 locations around the state work with companies one-on-one or through workshops on all aspects of doing business with the government.
“We have the privilege of working with some of the most innovative, hardworking businesses in Washington State. It’s exciting to see that these firms have a lot to offer the public sector,” commented Tiffany Scroggs, Program Director of Washington PTAC. “Doing business with the government is very different from the private sector. We support businesses in obtaining the necessary registrations and certifications, conduct market research, and then ensure they are submitting responsive proposals”.
PTAC client Evergreen UnitedFood Hub in Shelton, WA, bid and won their first federal contract with the US Department of Agriculture in May of this year. The contract, funded by the CARES Act, provides local families with food from local farms. “I was able to get the application put together and submitted last night thanks to Kate at PTAC’s incredible support, diligence, responsiveness and tutelage. She went far above the call of duty.” Said Hugh Jones, owner of Evergreen Food Hub.
Walla Walla based Evergreen Labs, Inc. has also been successful in winning a contract with the support of PTAC. “Jody O’Connor [at PTAC] has gone above and beyond to assist us. She explains things, touches base, and continues to encourage and send us the information we need. By far, the most professional person I have worked with in years!” commented President of Evergreen Labs, Inc Staci Wanichek. Staci and her team successfully pivoted their chemical manufacturing facility to making hand sanitizer in response to COVID related demands.
