February 14, 2017 – Thurston Economic Development Council is pleased to announce a number of additions and promotions to its internal staff and Board of Directors.
We welcome to our Washington PTAC program two new staff people, George Sharp as Program Coordinator, and Kate Hoy as a Government Contracting Specialist. Mr. Sharp will be responsible for outreach, client communications and data management of the program. He comes to the program as the previous outreach coordinator for the Center for Business & Innovation’s Veteran Microenterprise program. Ms. Hoy will focus on training and supporting clients to find, bid and win government contracts. She was previously a member of the Arizona PTAC program in Phoenix AZ.
In addition, Traci Hansen, formerly the Washington PTAC Program Coordinator, was promoted to program manager of the Washington Center for Women in Business (WCWB). She will be focused on the overall direction of the program, including outreach and building service offerings in other parts of Washington State.
The Thurston EDC also has a number of changes to its Board of Directors this year, including new members and members who have been elected to new positions. New board members include: Ann Freeman-Manzanares of Intercity Transit; Bill McGregor, commissioner for the Port of Olympia; Mike Mattox of Access the USA; and Heather Burgess of Phillips Burgess PLLC. In addition, the Board has two new officers. Perry Shea of SCJ Alliance is the new Board President, and Carrie Whisler of Olympia Federal Savings is the President-Elect. Both terms began in January 2017 and run through December 2018.
We congratulate all of the staff and board members on their new positions, and look forward to a prosperous future with them all.
