19 businesses to participate in training class to grow their businesses
The Thurston Economic Development Council announced today the businesses participating in the cohort of the ScaleUp Thurston program at the Center for Business & Innovation in Lacey. This cohort kicks off on Thursday, May 5, 2016, with a celebratory gathering at 11 a.m. where all co-workers, friends, family and community supporters are invited to meet the business owner participants and learn more about the ScaleUp program.
ScaleUp Thurston is funded through a federal contract with the U.S. Small Business Administration. Designed to help existing businesses ‘scale up’ to the next level of growth, the program will focus on supporting traditionally underserved business owners, including veterans, women, tribal members and minorities.

The ScaleUp training includes 10 classroom sessions of the Kauffman Foundation’s FastTrac Growth Venture, one-on-one business counseling, exclusive networking events for the cohort and business leaders, facilitated connections to commercial lenders and potential private investors, and development of individualized custom growth plans for the businesses.
