On Feb. 7, 2020, South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) will be hosting the annual SkillsUSA Post-Secondary Winter Leadership Conference.
Starting on Monday, Feb. 3, schools around the area will kick-off SkillsUSA Week. Institutions have been invited to participate by holding open houses, inviting local media to tour their programs, conduct community service projects, network and build relationships with local businesses, or engaging with policymakers about the value of technical careers and education.
SPSCC has an established history with SkillsUSA, with students from the Automotive and Welding Club winning many awards from their competitions. In 2018, six students from SPSCC took gold, silver, and bronze medals in three categories.
SPSCC will host the conference on the final day of the SkillsUSA Week with the Leadership contests beginning at 12:30 p.m. The Awards and Closing Ceremony begin at 5:00 p.m. in Building 27, the Student Union Building.
