South Puget Sound Community College invites the public to an open house for its new Lacey Campus Saturday, Oct. 24.
The open house, which will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will allow visitors to take self-guided tours of the new facility. Presentations highlighting the new building and its features will also be on hand, as will light refreshments and snacks.
Located at 4220 Sixth Avenue across from the Lacey Transit Center, the campus’ main building, the 50,000-square-foot Building One, will house the college’s Center for Corporate and Continuing Education, as well as general education classrooms, computer labs, and support staff and services. Building One will also house the new Center for Business and Innovation, a partnership between the college and the Thurston County Economic Development Council. The EDC will also move its offices into the building. Building Three, another of the five buildings on the campus, is the home for SPSCC’s Advanced Manufacturing Program.
The campus officially opened on Sept. 14, and fall classes began there Sept. 21. Lacey Campus will be open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
