Tacoma native and retired computer programmer John Potter will be our guest for a unique History Talk at the Schmidt House on Thursday, February 15. For over 40 years Potter has been a member of the Magic Lantern Society—a Magic Lantern is an original image projector.
Potter will begin his talk with a brief history of the projector, and then he’ll show slides from 1900 to1930, including images of early advertising, political history, and classic photos and ‘moving images before moving pictures.’
History Talks at the Schmidt House are part of the Olympia Tumwater Foundation’s Heritage Builders program.
