Olympia Federal Savings (OlyFed) is pleased to announce the promotion of Ryan Betz to Senior Vice President (SVP) and Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer and is now a member of the bank’s executive team.

In his new role, Betz will continue to serve as the bank’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Officer, Chair of the Association’s Product Development Committee and oversee the bank’s Wealth Management Division (OFS Financial Services). Betz will also lead the bank’s marketing, advertising, public relations and strategic growth efforts.

Betz joined OlyFed in 2016 as the bank’s Marketing & Public Relations Manager and was promoted to Assistant Vice President in 2018 and Vice President in 2019. A graduate of the Washington Banker’s Association, Executive Development Program, Betz is also a Certified Financial Marketing Professional through the American Bankers Association.

Betz is deeply involved with a number of community organizations and is currently President of the board for United Way of Thurston County, and serves on the Boys and Girls Club Resource Development Committee. In his time with OlyFed, Betz has received nine internal corporate value awards that serve to recognize exceptional service including being named Employee of the Quarter by his peers in 2017.

“Ryan has accomplished a lot in his time with OlyFed and since day one he jumped in with a strong commitment to our mission of mutual partnerships and excellent customer service – delivering upon these values internally to fellow OlyFedders and externally to clients and community partners every day,” Josh Deck, President & CEO said. “Because of his immersive leadership style, Ryan’s contributions are seen throughout OlyFed, which is why he will make a great addition to our executive leadership team.”

As part of this change in leadership, Sandy DiBernardo, will transition to a new role within the Association as Director of Community Outreach. DiBernardo, who has worked at OlyFed for 36 years, will play a critical role for the Association as the bank continues to grow its strategic partnerships, philanthropic giving, community education programs and customer appreciation initiatives.

As a current board member with the Washington Center for the Performing Arts and the West Olympia Rotary Board, DiBernardo has a long resume of community leadership involvement (Harlequin Productions, Thurston Asset Building Coalition, Washington Savings League, Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County) that will help the bank achieve its goals. This new role will help further the bank’s growing investments in the community by ensuring it’s tools and resources are matched with the talents and expertise to further the impact of OlyFed’s key objectives.

“Sandy has a wealth of experience and her relationship building skills combined with her meaningful community connections will play a vital role for the future of OlyFed and our mission to make a meaningful difference in the quality of life throughout our region,” Deck said. “Thoughtful, caring and creative, Sandy demonstrates OlyFed’s values in everything she does, which why she’s been able to earn so much trust and respect in our community over the years. We’re excited for what Sandy will bring to this new position, to OlyFed and to our community.”
