Randy Reynolds, Co-Owner/Managing Broker of Weichert Realtors, Reynolds Real Estate was honored as Thurston County Realtor of the Year by the Thurston County Realtors. The banquet was held on March 13, 2015.
Randy and his son, Ryan, entered a partnership and a Weichert franchise in November, 2013, at their Pacific Avenue location. In August of 2014, they moved to their present location at 2607 Martin Way East, Suite 202, Olympia. Weichert is a large east coast company that is steadily moving to the west coast. Reynolds Real Estate is the first Weichert franchise in the State of Washington.
Reynolds has been in the real estate business since 1991 when he joined the Howard Sommers team at John L. Scott in Lacey. He left John L. Scott in late 2004 to open his own office, Reynolds Real Estate, on Martin Way. That same year, son Ryan left his baseball career in Arizona to join his dad in the business; they were joined by Randy’s other son, Rob, and the business truly became a family affair adding several agents to the family. Rob moved to Spokane in 2007, and about that time, Randy leased space in the Harborstone Credit Union Building on Galaxy Drive, a move that led to his present location.
Randy received his B.S. Degree in Teaching (History) from the University of Idaho in 1971 and his M.A. in History in 1977, also from the University of Idaho. He began his teaching career at Tumwater Junior High in 1971 teaching Social Studies and English and coaching football. He moved to Tumwater High School in 1974, where he enjoyed a long career teaching various social studies-related classes. He enjoyed his sports responsibilities as Tumwater High School’s Offensive Coordinator in football and Head Track Coach.
Volunteer work is a large part of Randy’s life. He has served on numerous committees through Thurston County and Washington State Realtors Associations and is a Past President of Thurston County Realtors and currently serves on the Ethics Board. He has been a member of Tumwater Kiwanis for 25 years and is their current President. He is also current President of the Washington State FBLA Professional Division and has volunteered as a judge and supporter of FBLA conferences and events for over 20 years. He is active with local youth through Key Club, sports, Read for Life, and Youth2Business Connect.
Randy lives with wife, Judy, and dog, Joe Cocker, and Ed, the cat. Randy and Judy enjoy annual trips to Mexico, attending local events, their home and yard, and mostly their six wonderful grandchildren, two sons and beautiful daughters-in-law!
