Community members can support the effort through the “25 to Thrive” campaign or by donating directly to the GoFundMe.
Our Ark, a Lacey-based nonprofit serving youth and young adults experiencing homelessness, has launched an emergency fundraising effort to ensure young people under 25 remain safely housed despite sudden and significant federal and HUD funding gaps. These shortfalls threaten to force several youth back into homelessness unless immediate community support fills the gap.
The public can help by donating to the “25 to Thrive” campaign (https://donorbox.org/our-ark-25-to-thrive) or by contributing directly to the GoFundMe (https://gofund.me/6b2c87001).
Why This Fundraiser Is Critical
Our Ark serves youth and young adults under 25 who are facing homelessness, unsafe living conditions, and housing instability. Many of these young people have already secured housing through Our Ark’s programs, but sudden federal shortfalls have put them at risk of eviction or displacement, through no fault of their own.
Without rapid community support, these youth may lose the stability they’ve worked so hard to achieve.
“Our young people have fought their way toward stability,” said Danny Burkett, Founder and CEO of Our Ark. “The only barrier standing between them and homelessness right now is a temporary federal funding gap. Community support, whether through our ‘25 to Thrive’ campaign or GoFundMe, helps us keep every youth safely housed.”
How Donations Will Be Used
Funds raised will directly support young people currently in Our Ark’s housing programs, including:
- Emergency rent and eviction prevention
- Gap funding caused by HUD and federal delays
- Security deposits and move-in support
- Utilities, food, clothing, and transportation
- Hygiene items and daily living essentials
- Case management and wraparound stabilization services
Every dollar helps ensure youth can continue attending school, working, healing, and building independence.
