In March 2005, founder Todd Monohon left a 20-year career in the nonprofit sector and founded Olympic Rental & Landlord Services, LLC with one client and one single-family residence. Believing strongly in four key principles of success – 1) relationships are the key; 2) act now, plan for the long-term; 3) community involvement; and 4) ongoing professional development – the company has grown to manage properties for over 400 owners spanning 900 properties throughout Thurston County and southwestern Pierce County.
Olympic Rentals is a full-service residential property management firm specializing in single family homes and small multifamily properties. Offices are located in The Warehouse at 115 State Avenue NE in Downtown Olympia. Monohon was recently awarded the “Gerry L. Alexander Award for Outstanding Achievement in Heritage” by the Olympia Historical Society & Bigelow House Museum, recognizing the historic rehabilitation of the 1930 Olympia Press Building and 1922 James Martin Warehouse into modern urban offices at this location.
Monohon, recently awarded Boss of the Year by the Thurston County Chamber, stresses that “It has been an honor to work with some of the most dedicated and talented individuals over the past 20 years. It is they, in concert with our community, clients and vendor partners who have made the company what it is today! Our goal is to open doors for all with whom we work to provide homes not just houses.”
The Olympic Team and its Maintenance Division are heavily involved in supporting local housing groups, advocating for housing issues, helping to lead local, regional and national professional associations, supporting the local arts community, Downtown Olympia improvement efforts and the development of other small businesses. The Team plans to host a public celebration in June as a thank you to all those in the community who have allowed it the honor of serving as one of the most involved housing providers in our region.
