Our amazing all-youth cast (aged 9-16) will welcome the audience along on an adventure like no other. We begin on a seemingly ordinary day in Milo’s room. Even though Milo has a passion for words and wordplay, this is a day when everything feels like an awful bore. On this humdrum day, a tollbooth mysteriously appears, and off we all go to The Lands Beyond. Milo drives through the tollbooth only because he’s got nothing better to do. On the other side, things seem different and somewhere along the way, Milo realizes something astonishing. Life is far from dull. In fact, it’s exciting beyond our wildest dreams…
We’ll meet a fantastical number of characters including the Watchdog Tock and the Humbug who will help Milo on a seemingly impossible mission.
Olympia Family Theater’s Summer Stage production of The Phantom Tollbooth opens August 16, 2019 and runs through August 25, 2019 and is recommended for ages 6 to adult.
Based on the classic book by Norton Juster that has been sparking imaginations about words, numbers and taking us to the Lands Beyond for over 50 years. Individual show tickets can be purchased anytime at olyft.org or by calling the box office at 360.570.1638.
