Olympia Family Theater is your community partner in raising imaginative, loving, joyful and confident children. Our educational programs provide opportunities for personal development for young people, teaching creativity and responsibility, encouraging teamwork and personal integrity, and fostering self-esteem and appreciation for the performing arts.
Our education program motto is: Learn, Laugh, Perform!
Our education programs are divided into camps (mostly 1 week long, during all school breaks) and workshops (multi-week sessions held fall, winter, and spring). Below are the details for our winter 2018 after school offerings.
Winter 2018 After School Workshop – for ages 8-13:
THE SURPRISING STORY OF THE THREE LITTLE PIGS
Script by Linda Daugherty
SESSION: Jan 29 – Feb 24, 2018
DIRECTOR: Mandy Ryle
DESCRIPTION: Three classic fairy tales (The Three Little Pigs, The Three Billy Goats Gruff and Goldilocks and the Three Bears) begin in their usual “once upon a time” fashion; however, this time things change on the way to “happily ever after” as the pigs wonder what life would be like if the wolf were not always at their door, the billy goats gruff decide they can’t face another trip-trap over the troll’s bridge, and Papa Bear has had enough of the meddlesome little Goldilocks!
Work closely with talented artists & directors, gain skills, learn, laugh, and perform!
4 weeks of rehearsing then students put on ticketed performances for the public. Tickets will be available online and at the box office.
Public Performances: Friday, Feb 23rd at 7 pm & Saturday, Feb 24th at 1 pm
Schedule: Jan 29 – Feb 22 (Monday–Friday) 4-6pm
Cost: $175-$275 (sliding scale)
