Olympia Family Theater’s 2019 summer programs include:
- Half-Day Camps: ages 5 & 6
Our littlest campers will spend the mornings playing theater & movement games, making art, making friends, and building a performance to showcase for family & friends at the end of their week.
- Full-Day Camps: ages 7-13*
Each week a new show and everyone gets a part! Students spend their week playing theater games, developing as an ensemble of actors, and rehearsing their show. Families & friends are invited to come enjoy Friday’s performance.

- Drama Workshops: ages vary
In these small-group workshops, students will learn about interpreting a script, staging a story and what it takes it to bring it all to life.
- Stage Craft: ages 11-15
Students will get hands-on learning about the world of technical theater, scenic design, prop and costume design, lights, and sound. Each student will be a part of the production team for our Friday show.
- Teen Improv: ages 13 & up
Feeling witty? Try something new or gain more experience doing something you love—Improv! We’ll practice a variety of games and formats. Each day we learn how to say “yes, and…!”. The week culminates in an Improv performance for friends & family.
- Summer Stage 2019**
Open to age 10 & up. Audition for our all-youth summer production of The Phantom Tollbooth. Students will rehearse for 5 weeks and then put on 2 weekends of ticketed Mainstage performances.

Come and join us for this fun week of imagination and play. Create brand new characters or fully realize a character that has been rattling around inside your imagination. We will use physicality, voice and creativity to bring your own unique characters to life!

SUMMER STAGE DESCRIPTION
Summer Stage is an opportunity for young performers to participate in a full-length audition, rehearsal and performance process. Summer stage will focus on ensemble building, collaboration and inspiring a sense of confidence in the theater making process. This will be a fun filled 5-week rehearsal process culminating in two weekends of ticketed performances on the OFT Mainstage!
