Your NOVA School is proud to announce the formation of its new permanent Endowment and funding of the school’s first Named Endowed Fund. NOVA School joins a very small percentage of like-sized schools nationally with a permanent endowment program.
Commonly associated with colleges and well-established preparatory schools, and viewed as an indicator of financial health and long-term strategic planning, an endowment’s purpose is to fund programs, financial aid and other needs to further the school’s mission through distributions from investment growth. Joining the school’s existing fundraising programs, the NOVA Annual Fund and INNOVATORS’ Ball yearly event, the NOVA School Endowment will be especially important to philanthropists desiring multi-generational impact through major donations and willed gifts.
Like those at other non-profit organizations, the NOVA School Endowment enables larger donors to personalize endowed funds with names and targeted purposes. The NOVA School Endowment has launched with its first Named Endowed Fund, the Rising Star Endowed Fund of nearly $100,000, which will provide financial aid moneys to help ensure accessibility to a NOVA School education and important diversity within the student body.
“This is an important accomplishment for NOVA and another great milestone in the school’s wonderful history,” stated Head of School, Barbara Mitchell Hutton. “It is an example of NOVA’s vision, mission and dedication by its Board and community to ensure its relevancy for generations to come.”
The NOVA School Endowment has been established and will be managed by The Community Foundation of South Puget Sound. The collaboration between NOVA and The Community Foundation reflects the mutual goals of inspiring and engaging those in our region.
“An endowment signals to current and prospective donors that an organization has reached a certain level of maturity and is moving forward for the long term,” said Norma Schuiteman, President & CEO of The Community Foundation of South Puget Sound. “NOVA School has constructed a bridge to its future with this endowment and we are honored to work with them.”
