SEATTLE, Wash., September 21, 2016 – Lisa Reid has been hired by SCJ Alliance to lead and manage the firm’s expansion into the Seattle area.
“Lisa knows this market, has proven leadership skills, and enjoys long-established client relationships,” shares SCJ Senior Vice President Jean Carr. “We are delighted she chose to join our team as Seattle Engineering Manager. She brings a valuable skill set to our transportation planning and design groups.” Lisa has 23 years of experience in management, design, construction management, inspection and sustainability.
SCJ is a multidisciplinary professional services firm specializing in transportation planning and design, civil engineering, environmental and urban planning, landscape architecture and design, and public outreach.
“Lisa recently led the development of a sustainability rating tool for the Federal Highway Administration called INVEST that is being used nationally,” said Carr. “She has provided national training for the tool and is recognized as an expert in evaluating where sustainable options already exist and where they can be included in the design of projects.”
“Sustainability comes in many forms – including environmental, economic and social/cultural. This tool helps community’s evaluate these and more,” said Reid of INVEST. Reid earned her bachelor of science in civil engineering from UC Davis and has made the Pacific Northwest home for more than 20 years. Lisa has led several sustainability reports and assessments, evaluating where sustainability can be included in the design of projects.
“SCJ’s firm size, team make-up and experience have us well positioned to compete for many of the anticipated projects in the greater Seattle area,” said Lisa. SCJ is just over 80 employees, majority women-owned, and celebrating its 10 year anniversary. She added, “I’m excited to work for a firm that shares my commitment to working with diverse stakeholders and finding creative solutions that improve communities.”
SCJ is a key team member for the I-5 corridor improvement project through JBLM and is leading transportation design projects in Federal Way and Algona. The firm already has a presence in the Seattle area with their boutique landscape architecture group under the moniker Project Groundwork. SCJ also has offices in Lacey, Vancouver, Wenatchee, and Denver. SCJ has been nationally recognized multiple times as a great place to work, as well as for our growth and award-winning projects.
