The Miss Thurston County Scholarship Pageant will host its very first 2016 Alumni Banquet Dinner on Friday, October 28th at the Lacey campus of South Puget Sound Community College.
Young women in Thurston County have competed for this coveted title since the 1960s. First and foremost, they compete for scholarship prizes – including the grand prize of a $5000 educational award.
The preparation and performance of pageantry also develops strength, maturity and dynamism among these women, giving them a competitive edge as they ponder higher education or joining the workforce. The winner spends a full year touring, making appearances, representing and publicizing Thurston County communities.
Victory in the March 2017 pageant earns them passage to represent Thurston County as they compete in the Miss Washington (and ultimately, Miss America 2018) finals.
Hosted by Miss Thurston County 2016, Kuinn Karaffa, this occasion will feature a silent auction, visiting royalty from other pageants, dinner catered by SPSCC and the presence of civic and business leaders from across Thurston County and surrounding areas. It brings together many former titleholders and contestants for an evening of testimonies, performances and trips down memory lane.
Tickets are $50 each and sponsor packages are available, but seating is limited. Click HERE to register and reserve your spot for the banquet.
