OLYMPIA – Preparations are well underway for the August 5 Primary Election. Thurston County Elections will be delivering approximately 5,300 ballots to the post office on Friday, June 20, 2014 for Thurston County military and overseas voters. This 45-day mailing is done to provide the military and overseas voters sufficient time to learn about the candidates and issues, vote, and return their ballot in a timely fashion. The Thurston County Local Voters’ Pamphlet will be available online at ThurstonVotes.org.
We have made great improvements to our voting process for our men and women serving our country overseas. “I feel strongly that those serving in the military are able to exercise their right to vote, no matter where they are stationed,” said Mary Hall, Thurston County Auditor.
If you are a military and/or overseas voter and have not received a ballot by July 3, 2014, please contact the Thurston County Auditor’s Office at (360) 786-5408, for a replacement ballot, or visit ThurstonVotes.org to download a ballot.
