The open house on July 20th is a chance for the public to see farmland preservation in action. The event will feature farm tours, a petting zoo, local produce, and more.
The South of the Sound Community Farm Land Trust (SSCFLT) will host an open house at Scatter Creek Farm & Conservancy in Rochester, WA, on Sunday, July 20th, from 2 to 4 PM. Scatter Creek Farm & Conservancy consists of 147 acres of prime farmland along the Chehalis River. The land was preserved in 2013 by the South of the Sound Community Farm Land Trust, in partnership with local non-profit Creekside Conservancy, and local farmers Colin Barricklow and Genine Bradwin of Kirsop Farm.
The South of the Sound Community Farm Land Trust works to preserve working farmland and keep it accessible and affordable for local farmers. SSCFLT promotes vibrant local food and farming systems through community supported farmland preservation strategies, educational outreach, and partnerships that increase opportunities for farms and farmers to flourish.
