On Wednesday, January 14, Olympia Mayor Stephen Buxbaum, Lacey Mayor Andy Ryder, Tumwater Mayor Pete Kmet, Yelm Mayor Ron Harding, and Thurston County Commissioner Cathy Wolfe will collectively present a State of the Community address at the Thurston County Chamber Forum.
During the luncheon, representatives will respectively share the state of their jurisdiction, and then will address moderated topics, including, but not limited to: the impact of JBLM on community health, brewery project, the Mazama Pocket Gopher and the economic development opportunities in downtown Olympia.
Prior to the State of the Community is an Elected Officials Reception, from 11:00 a.m. until noon. This is an opportunity to engage business and community leaders in a one-on-one networking setting. The reception will also provide Chamber members and elected officials an opportunity to get to know each other better. The reception is open to all Forum attendees.
Students from the Reeves Middle School Alki Program will be in attendance as part of their studies of local government.
Forum is held at the Red Lion Hotel Olympia from 11:00am to 1pm. The cost is $35 general admission, $25 for online prepaid Chamber members and $30 for members at the door. Reservations are requested at 360.357.3362 or here.
