The Olympia Downtown Association will be hosting a Downtown Academy on December 4 at 8:30 a.m. at the City of Olympia, Council Chambers.
The academy will provide a roll out of the recently completed Downtown Olympia Business Outreach Survey results. This important outreach project was managed by the Thurston Economic Development Council and completed in partnership with the City of Olympia, Olympia Downtown Association (ODA), Parking Business Improvement Area (PBIA) and Thurston County Chamber of Commerce.
The academy will include a summary of trends compiled from the 104 surveyed businesses. Survey questions covered a wide range of topics:
- Business climate
- Workforce demands and accessibility
- Facility and location
- Market realities
- Desired improvements
The results provide a strong baseline of information that identifies opportunities and challenges facing downtown businesses and ideas of how to support an economically vibrant future.
