Community Foundation of South Puget Sound is excited to announce the return of its 9th Annual Give Local campaign, taking place November 10 – 21, 2025, at spsgives.org. This annual giving event invites people across Lewis, Mason, and Thurston counties to give to what they love by supporting the nonprofits that keep our communities vibrant and thriving.
Last year, people across the South Sound came together to raise $1.2 million for 142 local nonprofits, bringing the all-time total for Give Local to an impressive $5 million since its inception in 2017. Every dollar raised stays in our communities, funding essential programs—from meals for families and children’s literacy projects to clean water initiatives, arts programming, and so much more.
This year, the $100,000 Give Local Bonus Fund returns, multiplying the impact of gifts made during the campaign. Donors are also invited to explore volunteer opportunities, share stories, and inspire others—because generosity takes many forms.
“Give Local is a wonderful campaign lifting up the important work of nonprofits in our community,” said one 2024 donor. “Thank you for making the DAF giving process so easy.” Another added, “It is a special night when I sit down and see all the organizations I like to give to already and discover new ones I did not even know about. We live in a great place!”
In 2024, 81% of all gifts were $200 or less, demonstrating that everyone can participate—and that even a small act of generosity can make a difference.
“Give Local is more than a fundraiser—it’s a celebration of community generosity,” said Mary Lam-Witcher, the Community Foundation’s Philanthropy & Communications Officer. “When you give to what you love, you’re helping ensure nonprofits can keep showing up for our neighbors, our environment, our kids, and so much more.”
During checkout, donors are invited to help cover credit card and platform fees, and most choose to do so—making their gift go even further. If a donor does not cover the fees, those costs will be covered by Give Local sponsors and the Community Foundation. Ensuring that nonprofits are never charged fees, and 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to local causes.
Beyond online gifts, the Community Foundation can assist individuals with tax-smart giving through Donor Advised Funds (DAFs), Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs), or gifts of appreciated stock. There are no fees for giving in this way. Visit https://www.spsgives.org/p/daf for details and to get started on initiating your gifts.
