With funding provided by the PacMtn Workforce Development Council, WorkSource is bringing a free, 10-day, Underground Communications Construction Training at Talking Cedar on April 11th through 22nd, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Curriculum and trainers are from Redline Training Academy with guest instructors from Vermeer. This is the only training of its kind on the west coast.
Training participants graduate with certifications in Directional Drill Maintenance & Safety, Ladder Safety and Mini Excavator Maintenance & Safety, and receive extra mentoring and resume building. The last day of class, each student meets with and is interviewed by local construction-industry professionals, who are hiring at a living wage.
Eligible participants should be currently unemployed and looking for employment, are at least 18 years old, able to work on their feet all day, have no employer theft or robbery felonies on their record, can lift/carry 40 to 50 pounds; have a valid driver’s license and have barriers to employment.
Local partners include the Chehalis Tribe, Redline Training, Vemeer and Talking Cedar.
Interested parties must submit the online, Underground Communications Construction Form (WorkSource Cohort Application (jotform.com)) and will be contacted by a WorkSource representative to determine program eligibility and walk through the registration process.
