Close to 100 businesses applied for a Thurston Green designation this year and the community will celebrate them at the Chamber’s April Forum on Thursday, April 22 at 11:00 a.m. on the virtual platform REMO.
The virtual event will include a keynote address by Shina Wysocki, an owner of Chelsea Farms Oyster Bar and Vice President of Chelsea Farms. Wysocki will share the story of growing Chelsea Farms and the Oyster Bar. The oyster bar has quickly grown to be a landmark for farm-to-table eating in downtown Olympia. Chelsea Farms Oyster Bar stands as an ambassador to locals and visitors about shellfish farming, sustainable practices and a working waterfront.
In addition to honoring all of this year’s businesses who received the Thurston Green Designation (the complete list is located here) the committee will also honor the following organizations for their outstanding sustainability efforts.
Small Business of the Year – Seattle Children’s Olympia Bargain Boutique
Medium Business of the Year – Skyline Construction NW
Large Business of the Year – Saint Martin’s University
Municipality of the Year – City of Olympia
