DUPONT, WA – America’s Credit Union has hired Mr. Gary Schminkey as its new Chief Financial Officer. Gary is a veteran commercial banker with more than 30 years of financial institution experience, including working at both community and regional banks in the Western United States. He most recently served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Columbia Banking System, Inc. in Tacoma, Washington.
Throughout his career he has worked in a variety of accounting, finance, information, technology, and capital markets related capacities, including conducting multiple bank acquisitions. He began his career in various positions with Hewlett Packard Company and Mannesmann Tally Corporation. Gary later joined Key Bank of Washington, formerly Puget Sound Bancorp, in Tacoma as Vice President of Accounting and Finance before moving into the role of Vice President and General Manager.
Gary earned his undergraduate degree from University of the Puget Sound, a Master of Business Administration from Pacific Lutheran University, and the Certified Public Accountant designation.
