Thurston County residents have the opportunity to bless 300 local Foster Children, who may not otherwise experience the joy of Christmas gifts this season.
Altman Insurance Agency has gift ages for local foster children. Books, games, toys, movies and clothes are listed on tags that would meet specific desires of a child in need. “This is our ninth year collecting Christmas gifts for Capital Kids Connection, supporting local Foster Kids,” said Bradley Altman. “It’s important that we care for others and it’s fun to give to these kids, who are so joyful about the season, and have such need.” Altman Insurance Agency serves as a drop-off site for the new toys and gifts from now until December 12 and is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and now is the perfect time for people to get a tag and then bring the gifts to the office. Also, there are several teenage Foster Kids and they are thankful to receive local gift cards, movie tickets or i-tunes cards. Those can also be dropped of at the agency and will be provided in gift bags to the students. “It can make all the difference in a teen’s life, when they know their community cares,” said Diane Altman, who believes this makes a tremendous impact in the lives of individuals.
Capital Kids Connection is a dedicated group of volunteers responsible for several programs to benefit foster children, some of which include providing school supplies, coats, shoes and granting Christmas gift wishes, according to their website.
The Altman Insurance Agency is located at 1025 Black Lake Blvd SW #1B Olympia. They can be reached at 360-705-0046.
