Thurston
County is home to two hospitals and a number
of clinics. Both hospitals provide 24 hour
emergency services in an assigned level
trauma designation, cancer treatment
services, diabetes education, complete
diagnostic imaging, accredited laboratories,
outpatient surgeries, cardiac and

pulmonary treatment and
rehab programs, with adjoining medical parks and
specialty clinics.
Group Health
Cooperative of Puget Sound complements the hospitals
with outpatient services with two clinics in Thurston
County.
CAPITAL MEDICAL
CENTER
Capital Medical Center is a 119-bed hospital, with a
general family practice clinic, serving all of Thurston
County and surrounding communities. Originally built by
Hospital Corporation of America, this nationally
accredited facility is one of the many HCA Healthcare
hospitals worldwide.
GROUP HEALTH COOPERATIVE
Group Health is a consumer-governed, nonprofit health
care system that coordinates care and coverage. Based in
Seattle, Group Health and Group Health Options, Inc.,
serve nearly 560,000 members in Washington and Idaho.
Group Health’s commercial and Medicare plans have
received the top rating of “Excellent” from the National
Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).

PETER HOSPITAL
Providence St. Peter
Hospital is the largest medical center in Southern Puget
Sound with 390-beds. It offers a broad range of medical,
surgical and behavioral health services, including
award-winning heart, stroke and surgery programs and
delivers more babies every year than any other hospital
