A Collaborative Partnership is set to open a Downtown Welcome Center on Friday, April 24 to kick off the Olympia Spring Artswalk and the spring/summer travel season. A ribbon cutting and open house will begin at 10am.
The Downtown Welcome Center will be located at 301 E. 4th Avenue in Downtown Olympia, on the corner of 4th Ave and Franklin Street. It is an innovative new collaboration between the Olympia Downtown Ambassador Program, Olympia-Lacey-Tumwater Visitor & Convention Bureau, Olympia Downtown Association, and the Parking & Business Improvement Area (PBIA).
Olympia City Council-member Jeannine Roe said about the Center, “It’s a great opportunity for the City to work together with many of our private and nonprofit partners to pursue our goal of a downtown that is safe and welcoming for everyone.”
PBIA Chairperson Mary Corso added, “The Welcome Center created an opportunity to bring multiple organizations together for a common cause. The marriage of the Welcome Center with the Ambassador Program provides another level of hospitality and welcoming in our downtown.”
