The BBB Foundation Students of Integrity Scholarship Winner is Cameron Blegen of Washington. Blegen is a senior at University High School.
High school juniors and seniors from Alaska, Oregon, Idaho, Washington, Montana and Western Wyoming applied for the $10,000 scholarship by creating a 90-second video demonstrating how BBB helps people become smarter consumers.
Blegen exemplifies himself as a “student of integrity” in many ways. He currently serves as the leader of his 50 member Boy Scout troop and as president of University High’s National Honor Society. He has also won a statewide Future Business Leaders of America contest in Business Ethics.
“I work really hard in everything I do, personally, to be very ethical … and this is just huge in epitomizing things I do, and this video really speaks to what I do,” Blegen said.
Blegen’s video highlighted the importance of verified online customer reviews. View his video at BBB serving the Northwest’s YouTube page.
“Cameron is an outstanding student and a great example of a Student of Integrity whom we are excited to recognize with this scholarship,” said Amy Biviano, BBB serving the Northwest Foundations Director. ” He is deserving of this award that attracted almost 400 applicants over our five-state region. I am proud to serve as BBB Northwest’s foundation director and recognize students like Cameron for their hard work and devotion to the Pacific Northwest.”
A check presentation will take place March 21 at halftime during the Portland Trail Blazers game at the Moda Center. A portion of his video will be played during halftime at the game.
